Research And Implementation Of Distributed Workflow System Based On Shark System

Considering the poor flexibility, cooperation and robustness in WfMS (the Workflow Management System) and with good practical experiences, this paper introduces a multi-engines distributed WfMS. The distributed workflow management system is designed (called D-shark) based on Shark.D-shark, in which local engine is kept, has a master workflow engine designed to control this system and to access other WfMS. The security of cooperation is considered with the standard message transportation designed in the D-shark system. For the purpose of cooperation among WfMS, the node assignment module is designed in the system to assign the activity models to other systems. With the separate of transfer and activity and the dynamic modification policy proposed, the dynamic model is developed. The problem of data consistency and exception handling is considered and some methods are proposed.
