With the development of technology, society has been in the information age. Information technology brings many new things to people and changes people's living. At the same time, it also speeds up the procedure of modernization and information of enterprise. The modern enterprise management is the perfect combination of computer technology and management science. The goal of it is to play the full capacity of existing equipments, resource, human resource and technology and therefore the get the most benefit using the model of modern management and computer information management system to provide a reasonable and systematic management and production model. There are many periods in the evolution of enterprise management theory. Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP, is founded on the base of the early Material Requirements Planning and Manufacturing Resource Planning in 1970s. In short, ERP is a enterprise resource management information system, which includes theory of enterprise management, business follow, base data, human resource, materials, computer software and computer hardware and so forth, that is all the resource of an enterprise, and play a detail planning and effective control and wants to get its goal of gaining the most benefit.Internet and Intranet of the twenty-one century impels the development of many new technologies, especially in the combination of Web publishing and searching technology, spanning networks operation system computing technology in Java and CORBA networking distributed object technology. The architecture of ERP system evolves from the early host system to the later client/server model and then to the multi-lays distributed architecture. And now, most of enterprise management software have been in the third period, three-lays model or multi-lays model. The system will get better expansibility if it changes its architecture from former client/server model to the three-lays model or multi-lays model. In Web technology, people can find that browser has been the actual client of three-lays model or multi-lays model in the more and more popular web architecture.J2EE is an architecture which can simplify the development, deployment, management and other relative complicate problems of enterprise solution projects using Java platform. And J2EE architecture can provide middle ware integrate frame to meet the need of low cost, high ability, high reliability and high expansibility. This paper describes an ERP application system using J2EE platform and designs the whole system from three ways. The first is the traditional model analysis method and secondly is using MVC, which is Model, View and Controller, architecture to analyze the system. The last one is multi-lays architecture. So the whole system can be considered a multi-lays component one, which has a few relativities whatever in its breadth or its depth. Furthermore, the system has flexibility, availability, expansibility and testability. As the aim of mentioned above, the author participated in researching and developing the ERP management system, WL-ERP. And this paper is theconclusion of what the author has done. This article can be divided into three parts and each part includes contents as following:1. The first paragraph is the first part. It introduces the conception of ERP system and its development trends.2. The second part includes the second and the third paragraphs. In the two paragraphs, the author introduces the development process of enterprise management theory, conception and its principle. And in this part, the development process of application architecture, the conception of J2EE platform and its architecture are also the emphases.3. The forth and the fifth paragraphs are the third part. The author provides the design and realization of ERP system on the J2EE platform. In order to get better performance, the author also provides several solutions to optimize the system performance using J2EE design patterns. The use of WL-ERP can simplify the complexity of enterprise management and the total workloa...
