Embedded system industry is continuously developing swiftly and violently in these years, which has been widely applied to many fields, such as mobile computing device, network device, industrial device, information appliances, automobile electronic, amusement establishment, apparatus and instruments, etc. In this background, we integrated embedded system and embedded Linux technology together and architected embedded uClinux system based on ARM7TDMI core microprocessor. As a part of an embedded system, bootloader, some device driver programs and application programs are amended and designed.Generally thinking about the development of the embedded system hardware and sofeware, we select S3C44B0X of Samsung as our platform chip. S3C44B0X combines many virtues such as low cost and consumed power, many interfaces performance. It has been becoming an ideal processor of embedded applications. Meanwhile, we choose uClinux for embedded operation system.Lastly, we discuss the GUI (graphical user interface) system and choice the embedded Qt as our research object through analyzing and comparing some prevalent GUI systems. Based on embedded Qt we bring forward a project for car-mounted embedded entertainment system and fulfilled the basic function.There are some important key points in the whole design of software and hardware, which can be continuously used in the following development of embedded system product. In this dissertation, we will introduce what has been done in this task in detail, with diagrams and material examples.
