Mechanics design transition gradually from two dimensions to 3D design along with the speediness development of computer technology. Thereby mould CAD design enter into 3D design times also. At the base of CAD system software and hardware, mould CAD is an entirely design process that designer design and output mould result and mock-up. Associate with the department practically design condition, the subject of urethane plastics 3D mould system is brought forward for avoiding repeat labor, raising CAD using efficiency and quantity, shortening product development cycle.The text analyze detailed the structure characteristic of urethane plastics mould, bring forward scheme of urethane plastics 3D mould system, expatiate parameterization drive technology of building 3D model method based on character and restriction, and also explain detailed about the structure and characteristic of develop 3D CAD system based on the method. The friendly character of interface, reliability, easy maintainability, expansibility of system is considered fully. The design method of Object Orient is adopted at procedure.The study result of paper as follow:(1) Develop urethane plastics mould design module, user can design mould through interactiveinterface;(2) Establishment the database of commonly use part and structure characteristic;(3) Using AutoCAD ObjectARX development 3D model built module based on environment MDT;(4) Urethane plastics mould design combined with 3D model built module, composing 3D mould system of urethane plastics.The system has been used in actualness and acquired better effect.
