With the fast development of Internet and popularization of the E-Commerce, theimportance and urgency of digital media copyright protection is more and more obviousnowadays. How to use the digital watermarking technique to protect the copyright of digitalmedia author or seller and the rights of buyer effectively has become the important researchtopic of network security area. Based on the expatiation and compare of recent watermarking algorithms, withdiscussion of the attack on watermarking, this paper summarizes the characteristic ofwatermarking technology for copyright protection. With the analysis of present copyright protection scheme, contrapose the discoverableweakness and deficiency, this paper propose a secure and fair digital copyright protectionprotocol based on digital watermarking and digital signature. In this scheme, we embed watermarks of buyer and seller into the image both, andinsert a digest information of origin image into the buyer's watermark to prevent the sellerwho embeds watermark into image concretely to embezzle the buyer's watermark, theattacker can't capture or tamper the watermarked image too, so we can protect the copyrightof author and seller. And we use the permute function and digital signature to restrict theseller's behavior, protect the rights of rightful buyer, implement the justice. The upper security of our protocol is based on cryptography technology. The use ofHash function prevents the fake-watermark attack, and the digital signature andwatermarking certificate authority technology avoids the man-in-the-middle attack.
