Atmospheric laser communication,namely Free Space Optical communication in atmosphere, is a communication pattern in which laser is used as the information carrier in atmosphere environment. With its great advantages of high data rate, convenient installation, low cost, and good security, FSO system has been widely applied in the fields of satellite communication and ground sight distance communication, with a promising application prospect and tremendous market potential. As a subset of broadband technology, atmospheric laser communication technology is primarily feathered by flexible access method and low investment in short distance, compared to fiber transmission capacity, therefore is bound to play a significant role in solving the bottleneck problem of "Last Kilometer", and can be widely applied in the fields of intelligence building, finance and military use. In this thesis, on the basis of the characteristics and current research situation of FSO system, a multi-interface atmospheric laser communication system design has been introduced, with the functions of each unit and the design keys being analyzed. Emphasis has been placed on the optical receiving system, including APD receiver, receiver of the optical interface, Physical Layer protocols of fast Ethernet, fast Ethernet interface and control unit. The circuit diagrams have been given and the structures and parameters of the main components have been analyzed. Detailed analysis has been made of the functions and design principles of the APD receiver, fast Ethernet interface, optical interface and control unit. Moreover, important indexes such as the noise character, sensitivity and dynamic range of the receiver, as well as the control unit have been analyzed. Every part of the system is tested and the results of the entire system test are given. Finally, further improvements for the system have been summarized and the application prospect of FSO system has been provided.
