Design And Implement Of Program Code Dynamicly Loaded And Running On STB Based On DVB Standard

These days, Digitization of CATV has been developed in an orderly way through out the whole country. The simplex digital TV can't feet consumer's needs any more. Many kinds of digital data broadcasting services have came into our life, such as: News, Weather, and Stock on CATV. Rich and colorful service of data broadcasting on CATV network structure is a major instrument of developing increment operation, which is used to allure more consumers. This is also our purpose of research on it, which is very valuable of utility and effect on market.But new problem has came to been along with the developing of progressive data broadcasting services. The cost of STB is in contradiction with the more and more data broadcasting services' program code data. To gather in those services, must add more FLASH resources to store their program code data, which results in high cost consequentially. It is also disadvantageous to decrease the services on STB to save cost, which will depress the strength of market competition. In addition if services are different, software of STB must be changed according to them, which is a disadvantage for product.After analyzing the contradiction talked above on the side of consumers' needs, this thesis presents a project to resolve it :" Time-sharing use Resources – Services' program code broadcasted on CATV based on DVB standard, download and run it dynamicly according to user's choice. This project make it come to true that limitless Services on STB which's resource is limited. At same time development of digital data broadcasting services comes to a new phase separated from terminal STB.There are two hardcore of the project : program's code dynamicly loaded and running; program 's data broadcasted based on DVB, which will be discussed in details. It separates the increment Services' program code from software on STB and makes STB's software more simplex, which is propitious to product of STB on a large scale and decrease the cost.At last the future of this project is also talked about. The whole system including : program code data sending Server, data transfer on CATV, terminal's download and running dynamicly, has been completed in WuHan DongTai Information Industry limited company. This system's test is a great success and will come into our life soon.
