Channel resource Scheduler in wireless network is used to queue various kinds of data packets, allocate wireless resource, e.g. channel codes, time slots and frequency, and improve the utilization efficiency of wireless resource so as to satisfy kinds of user's service demand. And the object of the channel resource allocation is to improve the system capacity and make good use of the system resources, which include system capacity analysis, such as the number of supported voice and data service, channel capacity analysis, such as the number of the access subscribers and the supported service rate as well as the methods to select the appropriate channels, such as the public channel or the dedicated channel, etc.First, the scheduler model and the design method for the wireless scheduling algorithm are illustrated. Then based on the basic scheduling principle and flows, different types of scheduling algorithms are analyzed.In chapter 3 of this dissertation, the performance of some wireless packet scheduling algorithms which are suitable for the B3G system, which include round robin, pure C/I, TBLB+C/I and M-LWDF, are simulated and compared. In addition, according to the MIMO system, the scheduling algorithms combined with the power distribution mechanism are also analyzed and compared.In chapter 4, the RLC protocol for UMTS upon OPNET simulation platform is implemented. Upon this platform, the performance of the RLC protocol for different service rates is analyzed and compared according to the default and varying configurations.In chapter 5, the process to debug the B3G system software is described. Then the composition and the parameters configuration for PPP are also introduced. In addition, based on the Vxworks real time operation system, the PPP to fulfill the convergence layer function is constructed in the B3G system for data service.At last, in chapter 6, the dissertation is summarized. The wireless packet scheduling algorithm for B3G communication system and the RLC protocol for 3G are reviewed, and then the research direction in these two fields is also discussed.
