Along with wireless communication applying to wideband and high-speed multimedia application,Multi-input and Multi-output (MIMO) has become one of the critical technique for the next generation mobile communication. With the characteristics of high-speed, low-cost, and high frequency efficiency, it can provide higher transmitting speed and larger system volume within limited spectrum.Firstly, the basic principle of MIMO, system flow chart, and its current status are introduced. Then, the required feature of transmitting and receiving antenna used in base station and mobile terminal of the MIMO system are analyzed. According to the requirement of small space, bio-polarization, large impedance band width, the target of distributing multi- antenna on a rather small volume while having little distributing between each other are put into reality.Secondly, on the base of introduction MIMO principle, recent research progress and the antenna model of MIMO system, the design approach of antenna element for MIMO is introduced. The antenna requirement in MIMO system is met by increasing bandwidth, adjusting direction pattern and dispensing technique.Thirdly, the principle of balun structure is presented, meticulous work are done on Micro-strip Line balun Oscillator structure, including providing the way of design this sort of micro-stripe antenna, making simulation on field and route and actual test. According to comparing simulation result with actual test result, a helpful conclusion has been made for future design work. Some researches are also done on adjusting the E-plane width, altitude and way of placement, polarization, structure of oscillator and autoeciousness unit. According the test result, the researches are efficient to reach good performance.Finally, the design of meander slot antenna is presented. A lot of transmogrification designs are implemented on the structure of the antenna, from meander slot antenna, feedback line to parasitic unit. Also the bow-tie-shaped meander slot antenna, edge tapered meander antenna and log periodic meander antenna are discussed. At last, the test results show good agreement with the design.
