The Core Technology Research And Application Of Knowledge Repository Base On Object/Rational Mapping

In this paper, we discuss the intelligent tutoring system(ITS)'s basic concept and its tendency, presenting its main problems. On the base of the object-oriented design and object/rational mapping technology, we design a repository centering on knowledge point, from its actual requirement. Moreover, using the new J2EE technology, we build an efficient, safe, loose coupling and high integration ITS framework, and make some research on the nuclear technologies applied in this paper.The knowledge repository is the core of the ITS. In ITS, professional knowledge of teaching is deposited in the repository, which is an important part of ITS. Meanwhile, as the base of the whole teaching system, it has been in hottest and most difficult fields about the research to ITS for a long time. If good enough, a knowledge representation can not only organize knowledge of a terrain very correctly and efficiently, but also help student organize the structure of the knowledge, enhance the ability to resolve problem. So it is critical for the ITS research. Here, we set up the repository by the Object-oriented knowledge representation, using rational database to storing and managing data. Hibernate is a scheme of data persistence used to solve the "impedance mismatch" between the relational model and the object model. Moreover, it reduces the complication of operating Relation Database System (RDS).While building the ITS framework, we use the three nuclear technologies: UML modeling technology, Hibernate technology based on object/rational mapping and Struts technology based on Model-view-control. We use the Hibernate to offer an object-oriented data persistence scheme, by which the knowledge repository could only depend on the object model. By the UML technology, we could model the whole system and realize some codes. The Struts technology realizing the frame of Model-view-control insures the separation of view layer and data model.All these solutions of the ITS provide a series of the whole framework forits construction. At the same time, it provides a new mode for the ITS constructions of universities in China.
