Synthetic Aperture Rader (SAR) is a kind of high resolution imaging Rader, Using SAR we can obtain high-resolution Rader images under all weather, day and night and long distance conditions. So it is of high value in military and civil applications. It recurs to plus compass technology to achieve interval dimension' s high resolution imaging, and recurs to orientation Doppler analytical technology to achieve orientation dimension' s high resolution imaging, and then obtains the radar image of the target through imaging disposal. In the SAR imaging algorithms, the most classic algorithm is Rang-Doppler (R-D) algorithm. The R-D algorithm improves calculation efficiency observably, but its interpolation brings additional calculation and image distortion. Then all kinds of imaging algorithms appeared such as improved R-D algorithm, wave-number Domain algorithm, Chirp Scaling algorithm and improved Chirp Scaling algorithm etc.The paper first briefly introduce SAR 's various classical imaging algorithms , both of their advantages and disadvantages, and the main research content , key technology and signification, also analysis SAR'S high resolution principles , imaging principles and the basic image charactertics.Second, the paper emphasizes two classical imaging algorithm: R-D and Chirp Scaling, and proposes non-linear compensation to Chirp Scaling algorithm to offset the deficient of Chirp Scaling algorithm, and the formulas' particular illations, comparison with the traditional Chirp Scaling algorithm, also using real data to validate the basic interval Doppler R-D algorithm, Chirp Scaling algorithm , and the improved non-linear compensation to Chirp Scaling algorithm, comparing the capability of above three algorithm as well. Finally, summarizing the research of the whole paper, and pointing out the problems needed further research in the future.
