In the thesis, strain measurement system of FBG is designed systemically and researched by experiment. Based on analysis of domestic and foreign study actualities on FBG, development trend and several main problems of FBG sensor in application are summarized. And to meet the need of practical strain measurement system, we research each aspect as design for strain measurement system of FBG. First, starting with theoretic model of strain measurement system of FBG, focuses on the systematic analysis of the strain sensing properties of fiber Bragg grating, proves the superiority of the application of FBG as sensor to strain measurement; on the basis of analyzing advantages and disadvantages of familiar demodulation techniques, a method that combines non-balanced fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer(FMZI) and phase generated carrier (PGC) modulation and demodulation technique is proposed to realize signal demodulation of FBG sensing system, and the proposed system scheme is testified to be feasible by analyzing detailedly and theoretically. As the same time, factors limited the upper limitation of the dynamic range in fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer is analyzed theoretically. Next, experiment scheme of strain measurement system of FBG is designed. Strain performance of FBG is tested experimentally, which proves that the center wavelength of FBG is linear to strain. Experiment scheme design and simulation of strain measurement are made to testify that the demodulation scheme designed by system can realize the high-accuracy measurement. Last, the systemic is analyzed. Due to temperature performance of FBG, a reference FBG is adopted to compensate temperature. The proposed system scheme is testified by deriving the compensation principle detailedly. Moreover, this scheme not only realizes temperature compensation but also eliminates the effect of environment fluctuation acting on strain measurement.
