With the rapid growth of silicon capability and the great increase in IC scale or design complexity , the SoC design methodology has been the focus in the IC area. Reusable design methodology is one of the keys to improve design productivity and shorten design circle ,it is one of the most necessary sub-topics in the SoC design methodology.SCI (Serial communication interface) is a simple structure interface and used expediently, so it is widely used in all sorts of MCU, DSP and MPU. In this paper, IP reusable design methodology in the DSM technology is studied, which is based on the serial communication interface.In this paper, reusable design methodology and design methodology in the DSM technology are studied. In reusable design methodology, the basic principles of reusable design methodology and IP standardization are studied. Under the guide of them, the design and verification of SCI in the DSM technology are completed, which base on TSMC0.25 technology library. The EDA tools of Cadence and Synopsys are used. The design includes system level design, RTL level design and logic synthesis .The verification includes RTL simulation, gate level simulation and static timing analysis. At last the standard files and documents are submitted. The research of this paper contributes to the accumulation of the experience of IP design standardization for our country.
