The fifth industrial revolution has been marked with information technology, which has a huge impact on the way people produce, live and also their value concept. Digit and intelligence has become the goal of people's daily life. Smart home networks utilize various transport media to connect the interior devices at home, which realize the sharing of information and cooperation of different devices and provide intelligent home services. This architecture is distributed, open and heterogeneous.The research of agent originated from the field of distributed artificial intelligence. The academia has a common understanding of agent as a computation entity which can simulate human behavior and has the intelligence to provide related services. Several agents can be a multi-agent system through cooperation. The running way of MAS is need-oriented cooperation and loose couple, and it's suitable for the distributed and heterogeneous home networks.This paper analyses the shortcomings of existing plan for the home network, induces the need for smart home network. With the multi-agent technology, the paper proposes MAIHN (Multi-Agent-based Intelligent Home Network) and the main part of this model. It sums up various agents in this model and designs the functionality and structure for different agent. It has provides a organizing structure for MAIHN model.This paper emphasizes the communication and cooperation of Multi-agent in intelligent home networks. Based on the research of existing communication mechanism and language, this paper proposes a communication strategy based on communication server and the general design and detailed design of communication server. This paper extends KQML and simulates Agent communication of MAIHN model through JKQML. This paper researches the different strategies of multi-agent cooperation, analyses the deficiency of the application of traditional contract networking protocols. For this deficiency, the paper proposes a improving method for multi-agent cooperation based on contract networks and the steps of agent cooperation in MAIHN model.
