The smart antenna technology introduces a space division multiple access technology. Combining the smart antenna technology with multiple access technology at present (TDMA, FDMA, CDMA), capacity of mobile communication system would increased by several times and enhance communication system quality. Now the smart antenna technology has been a focus, as a key technology in the 3rd generation mobile communication system. For Direct Sequence spread spectrum Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) signal, some beam forming algorithms for a smart antenna system up-link has been studied in this dissertation.The outline of the dissertation is the following.1. A kind of low complexity blind beam forming algorithm is discussed which make use of structure of spread spectrum code. A blind beam forming algorithm is proposed in this dissertation, which combines the finite alphabet character of communication signals with the structure of spread spectrum code. Simulations show our algorithm is efficient.2. Estimating user's signal direction of arrival (DOA) in mobile communication systems, with the mono pulse estimation algorithm in radar systems. A DOA estimation algorithm for CDMA systems is proposed. And the linearly constrained adaptive mono pulse estimation algorithm is analyzed, which is applied in scene without ideal power control. Simulations show our algorithm is efficient.3. Several implementation schemes for beam forming are introduced, and a simple compare among them is shown given. An implementation scheme for our algorithm is proposed at last.
