Research And Application Of XML Security

XML( extensible Markup Language) is a kind of data standard drawn up by W3C.It is widely used in various field for it's following advantage: structured , labeled, exchangeable as well as flexible.When XML comes to be a widespread data encoding format of Web applications, it is essential to safeguard the security of the information represented in XML document.The XML security mainly concerns about the following knowledge: XML Encrytpion , XML Signature, XML Key Management Specification (short for XKMS), Security Assertion Markup Language (short for SAML) and etc.The paper pays more attention to the XML Encrytpion and XML Signature.XML Security technology can guarantee data of being transported integrated , confidential and nonrepudiation.It also can compensate the deficiency of traditional security technology and enchance the security of web resources. Furthermore,XML signature and XML Encryption are the base of a series of Web Services specification .Therefore ,XML security plays a very important role for the development of Web.This paper is focused on XML security and application,the main content as follows:(1). Theoretical knowledge and technologies of XML ,such as writing rules, characteristic, interface of programming as well as application field and so on, are discussed in detail.(2). Have a good command of the symmetric encryption, Asymmetric encryption , digital signature and PKI technology based on the theory of cryptography and know their connection and difference of them clearly.(3). The primary principle and implementation of XML encryption and XML signature are anysised in particular. XML signature and the traditional digital signature are also introduced, Moreover, a solution to mutisignature is presented.(4). Accomplish the XML Encryption,XML Decryption , XML Signature and verification of XML Signature by combining the C#,XML security specification on Laboratory Information Management System based on VS.net platform.
