Design And Develop Of Extensible Management Information System Based On Port-Agents

With the development of market economy and the rapid expansion of modern information, more and more enterprises or organizations need to develop their special information management system. In order to keep up with the developing of management information system theory and dynamical needs of an enterprises' business, from the perspective of software engineering, there is a need of architecture of management information system that can extend functions conveniently and rapidly. Port-agent based management information system can meet this need.With the explanation of the definition of the management information system, its possible physical structure, normal building methods, the concept of agent and its model, the concept of port-agent and the system of an executable method of build management information with port-agent were put forward in the need of the application of the management information system.By analyzing a management information system that needs actual development, an example of port-agent based management information system was given. The server agent set was based on Linux operating system and C programming language. The client agent set was based on Windows operating system and Visual Basic environment. After debugging and combination of the system, we tested the three aspects of the system: Basic Functions, Performance and Security of Communication Data. The result shows that the system is both practical and stable. And then we discussed the function extensibility, role extensibility and hardware extensibility of the port-agent based management information system.
