The Research And Implementation Of WAP Gateway That Supports WEB Services

With the development of wireless communication, the number of the MobileInternet users increase rapidly in recent years. In many protocols of the surfingInternet, WAP which was established by numerous cell-phones manufacturers, is thefirst result of combined mobile communication with Internet. The WAP protocolpoints out the format of the webpage and the standard of how wireless devices tocommunicate and how to encode or decode information and something about securityetc. So the users of the Mobile Internet could browse WAP pages through WAP enablewireless device. In this way, they would obtain information quickly and conveniently. However,with the increasing number of the Mobile Internet users, most of themcan not be satisfied with simply browsing the WAP pages. They are eager to use theexisting Internet resources to take part in the electronic business. So, the settlementmust be promptly carried out to solve the difficult problems of e-business on WAPenable wireless devices. In this way, it could meet vast Mobile Internet users'needand enable Mobile Internet to get further development. WEB services is the first and important technology in the realizing the e-businessat present. WEB services is the focus of IT fields today. The goal of Web services is toprovide a common technology layer which has no relation with language and platform.The application of different platforms needs this technology layer to connect andintegrate dynamically with each other. WEB services becomes the necessarytechnology architecture of the realization of dynamic e-business. But most WEB services providers only offer the client the desktop users to usetheir WEB services, but WEB services providers do not provide the client withMobile Internet users. In order to realize the quick combination of the dynamice-business and provide the WEB services client with Mobile Internet users to useconveniently. After studying the WAP protocol and WEB services technique, thisthesis plan to let the WAP gateway to be responsible for creating the WEB servicesclient. In this way, it could avoid some shortcuts of WAP enable devices. After theWAP Gateway creates the WEB services client, it could compress the WML file andsend them to WAP enable device. This thesis provides the way to extend the traditional WAP Gateway function.The new function could download and parse the WSDL file according to the MobileInternet users'request. At last, the WAP Gateway produces the client of WEB servicesin terms of the result of parsing WSDL file.
