Nowadays, the development of the network management software depends on the research and development of the Internet technology, of which the more important is the network management conformity technology according to the network management standards. However, the essential conformity of the network management is not the conformity of the standards and technology or professional network management software, but the conformity of the data and models of the network management. None but the conformity of the data and model can support the complete, comprehensive research and development of dynamic, intellective network management applications. With the rapid improve of the development of the native network management software, close-fitting designs have developed gradually according to merchants' urgent requirement of the network management.Currently UML is a very popular topic. During the period of the rapid development of software, although there are many development tools and projects, actually few of them can be taken as a real project. Moreover, some people, who engage themselves in the software development for long time, are short of the systemic and professional abilities of analysis and design. Thus, the software project would be able to be finished on time, while it had no reuseability and maintainability, which put us in the passive situation in the developing process of software. Software has the strong ability of Reusability and Maintainability, which is the kernel question to be solved in OOA/OOD. We bring UML and OOD together with the design thought through the process in this project, about which this dissertation will give some introduction.This dissertation elaborates the development and design of a set of all-purpose product, TGOP (Telecommunication General Object Platform), and emphasizes the design and the main function of management module of the model management tools' class.There is some difficulty in realization of this project, for merchants' equipments are multifarious and real world needs abstracting. However, this project group realized every function based on the OOD thoughts.Firstly, this dissertation relates the actuality and research achievements of the development of network management software, CMM2 (the criterion we followed in the design). CMM (Capability Maturity Model) is a set of standards to value software ability and mature degree that is researched by the Software Engineering School of Carnegie Mellon University. The standards divide mature degree into 5 level: start level, reusable level, defined level, managed level and optimized level. The advantage of each level is explained in the dissertation particularly. In the design, there are 6 key process fields in the two followed standards: demand management, software project programming, software project follow and superintend, software subcontract management, software quality guarantee, software collocation management.Secondly, the dissertation emphasizes UML, the building technology used in the design. UML (Unified Modeling Language) is not only a set of standard building technology language for software blueprint design, but also a visualized OOA language. From the angle of the system engineering, UML is also an analysis tool for software structure. It divided system building model into two genera, which are static status and dynamic status. There are 8 diagrams. Static diagram includes use case diagram, class diagram, groupware diagram, deployment diagram. Dynamic diagram includes gradation diagram, collaboration diagram, state diagram, activity diagram. The function and characteristic of each diagram are elaborated in the dissertation.Thirdly, the dissertation states the function analysis and structure design of model management tool of TGOP. This phase is designed strictly according to the standards criterion of CMM2. A set of software development plan is established.
