XML Based WEB Behavior's Realizations And Applications

How to solve the reusability of interface elements is one of the most challenging problems in WEB development at present. The design of HTML iteslf is more suitable for expressing simple characters information, with its simple functionalities. Compared with the ample components within interface of traditional client-side program, the WEB designing is lack of reusable components. Therefore, one of the typical solutions to deal with such problem is to include head files of different components then their functions can be reused. However such solution has its own foible also when one page layout has to include two same components. The troubles include, the ID of components should be different then lots of <%%> will present in page layout, the codes become so complicated that are hard to be maintained. Users will also face the similar trouble that in order to carry out mutually on the WEB Page , and have no choice but to endure the frequent page refreshing. All these are originating from the highly unanimous of storaging and displaying of the data.At the same time, the data are mixed together with HTML page layout in the product of WEB the past. Modify the page layout appearance signifies to modify the whole page layout. The date exchange between the system is very difficult for using dissimilar format. This method restricts the business application of network application program. It is very heavy for development personnel to organize and pick-up data.For thorough resolving above mentioned problems, an idea of general networkcomponent is presented in the paper. And XML accelerate the realization of such thought. Furthermore, we have new recognition for WEB browser, which means that IE(Internet Explorer) is not only a simple browser, also a framework of general client software for IE is a powerful development platform by itself. Another word, the behaviors of IE provide the technique platform to develop WEB components. Of course, it's not enough, behaviors just figure out the problem of reusable, and data structure is still a tough issue. So XML is introduced into IE, making it independent from data sources and as transplantable and extensible as enough. The components could be visible, such as tree component, grid component or calendar component etc. Or invisible, such as database access component. All in all, the combination of XML and behavior of IE provides a novel idea and resolution to broaden the usage of components.In this paper, a technique discussion and experiment is presented. Firstly, the possible method will be probed, and a component would be accomplished on such base; and then, more components will be finished, such as buttons, selcet etc; finally, a WEB page instance will be provided.Along with the spread of Microsoft .NET platform, especially the appearance of WEB Service, a bright future in WEB application lies before XML And we do believe that the reusable components, which are designed by XML, will have great application potential and market chances.
