With the development of sonar signal collection system, the high speed, big capability and carry-home storage device is needed. Today PC hard disk's capability can be made bigger and bigger, but its speed is slow. Other storage device, such as RAM, FLASH, are high speed but small capability. So the Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) was invented. The basic idea of RAID was to combine multiple small, inexpensive disk drives into an array of disk drives which yields performance exceeding that of a Single Large Expensive Drive. Additionally, this array of drives appears to the computer as a single logical storage unit or drive. In this paper, an IDE disk array data storage system based on DSP is designed and completed. Because of using the advanced DSP, popular high speed USB bus and large scale FPGA, using VHDL hardware descriptive language to design the interface logic, the level of designed hardware is to a certain degree. This parallel processing system can be easily expanded to more complicated system. In this paper, the main works are as follows: LA an IDE disk array data storage system based on DSP has been developed. 2.The USB bus between the hard array and PC is designed and realized. The driver of the USB bus device is compiled. 3. The data is stored in formation.
