With the development of Internet and Web, the research on how to develop an advanced, secure, multiplatform and efficient Web application system is more and more important.First, this thesis introduces the research background of the studies and the demands of the system. It also analyses and compares the several main technologies of accessing database on Web——CGI,ASP,JSP and PHP. Then it discusses the component technology and J2EE technology and Internet security.The thesis emphatically discusses the ASP solution and J2EE solution to the Fixed Assets Management System Based on Web with ASP technology and J2EE technology in different solutions. It describes the overall design for the system architecture, the system flow, the system functions, the data structures and the system security. Then it describes the particular design and implementation of the two different solutions.In the ASP solution, the three-tier architecture based on B/S is adopted and Microsoft IIS 5.0 is used as the Web server. The thesis describes the developing principles, the realizing methods and the security design. In addition, it illuminates parts of the system functions.In the J2EE solution, the n-tier architecture based on J2EE and Web is adopted and BEA WebLogic Server 6.1 is used as the application server. The system was designed and implemented with the J2EE technology such as Servlet, JSP and EJB. The thesis presents a design pattern of the application system based on J2EE and Web. Then It describes the division and design of Web tier and business tier and gives some examples of implementing the presentation logic, business logic and the authentication. The Fixed Assets Management System based on Web has run successfully. It is a convenient way for the communication between the users and the management and it has the advantages of enhancing working efficiency and improving the management. Moreover, it is easy to be maintained and upgraded.
