To begin with pointing out that Power Management is p laying an important role in mobile computing-centered embedded system, this thesis gives the introduction of ARM architecture and Embedded Linux on which the project is based. Then, it describes how to design and realize the basis of Power Management that consists of Idle State and Sleep/Wakeup function in detail. Moreover, the author focuses on Dynamic Power Management that is achieved by system workload collecting and CPU frequency scaling, and so, power consumption will be decreased while performance can be guaranteed at the same time. The article presents an integrated solution to Power Management on Embedded Linux, and besides, to get the lower power consumption and the faster responsive speed, it realizes dynamic scaling of CPU frequency to support Dynamic Power Management. The experience and schemes summarized in this paper would be of great referenced values for similar project development.
