The main study field in the paper is the methodology to check and track moving object in dynamic background. The main algorithm named Phase-Related Matching algorithm based on Fast Fourier Transform is introduced and it has 5 steps. Firstly two frames of images are transformed to their power spectrums with FFT. Secondly the two power spectrums are transformed to unitary values and multiply each other to build phase-related spectrum of two images. Thirdly the phase-related spectrum is transformed to phase-related function with IFFT. Fourthly the highest peak value of the function is detected to get the point's coordinate which is the two images' offset. Finally the object's excursion is calculated through quadric difference. A system based on Image Phase-Related Matching algorithm is also introduced in this paper. High-performance floating-point TMS320VC33 DSP chip is main processor of system's hardware. The chip has excellent Performance-Price rate and floating-point processing capability. Its pipeline structure is made up of 4 function units, and it can execute one arithmetic logic operation and one multiply operation in a single cycle. The whole process checking and tracking moving object in the system is as follows. The analog video stream created by CCD camera is sent to video decoder TVP5145, which can transform video stream to separate YUV signal. Only Y signal is used in the algorithm, and the signal is transferred to DSP chip to further process. With Phase-Related Matching algorithm and other assistant algorithm, the moving object can be detected. After all kinds of algorithms are fulfilled, the control instruction generated DSP is sent to camera running controller through RS485 serial bus and drive camera to track the object. The experiment result indicates the system can effectively check and track moving object. Moreover it is a better anti-jamming system.
