Researches On Question/Test Interoperability Standard And Its Conformance Testing

Assessments perform an important testing and feedback effects in learning, and it is the indispensably module of e-Learning systems. But now the learning resources can't be shared conveniently and the learning systems can not interoperate with each other efficiently due to the lack of uniform format and the difference of the systems' structure. Standardization is the basic solution to address the above problems, in which I have taken great efforts to bring forward "Question/Test Interoperability standard". This paper intends to sum up my previous researches on CELTS. 10.On the grounds of efforts taken by IEEE and other entities, this paper studies deeply e-Learning technology specifications architecture, and improve the standards life cycle model by re-defining its maintenance phase, which make the specifications keep pace with new technology. This paper provides the steps of building successful specifications, which strictly specify the standards developing workflows, so that resources are best utilized and scheduling of standards development can be more predictable. The goal is to guarantee the standards' quality.Based on the essential motive of re-use and interoperability, taking well into account functionality, this paper apply Object Oriented and formal technology to compose materials into different organic data objects on using the Four Process Framework proposed by Education Testing Service. This paper then proposes CELTS. 10's abstract conceptual model which is called Test Object Model, and the semantics of CELTS. 10 by mapping the conceptual model into exchangeable XML schema which is nominated ASI Logical Data Structure, as well provide the XML binding method of ASI schema and the binding instances. I colligate above work to compile the "Question/Test Interoperability Standard" which .now provide a mechanism for the appropriate vendor and content supplier systems to exchange question and test materials. The CELTS. 10 describe the data structures that used to provide interoperability between question and test system.This paper points out the approach to author test conforming with CELTS. 10 by a typical example, and completes the proof system named as ASI Creator for the sake of validating the usefulness and reasonableness of CELST. 10 standard and providing several specific examples in the promotion process, which is helpful to compile the "Practice Guide of CELTS. 10 specification" and give the users guidance for the adoption and implementation of this specification.With the motivation of preventing user from different understanding on thestandard written in natural language, this paper provides conformance testing framework, event flows and technological methodology. I complete CELTS. 10 conformance testing suites and testing platform, which verify implementations of a standard to determine whether or not deviations from the standard. It increases probability that products are implemented correctly and likelihood of portability and interoperability.
