Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) can provide high-resolution image of range by emitting large time-bandwidth multiplication signal. In azimuth the platform of radar moving generates the echoed Doppler signal, and provides high-resolution image by signal processing. Two-dimensional high-resolution image could be obtained, so it is extensively applied in military and civil application.This thesis mainly studies two imaging algorithms which are Range-Doppler and Chirp Scaling, and analyzes the realization of the imaging algorithms and the results of simulation and raw data image. By comparison, their limitation, advantages and disadvantages are founded. The thesis also researches on ISAR, whose crucial technique is motion compensation. The translational motion compensation including range-bin alignment and phase compensation is introduced emphatically.At last the whole thesis is summarized and some important problems to be solved are pointed out.
