Now, because multimedia technique is widely applied in communications, development of business such as video telephone and lineless video communication has become necessary. But, the greatness of video data gradually puts off the application of multimedia technique in the narrow or lineless networks. So, video coding and compression technique became more and more important in the corresponding areas.The compressed video stream is very sensitive to network transmission errors. A little transmission error maybe promotes error propagation in both the spatial and temporal domains and make the image quality intolerable finally because of the motion compensated prediction and the variable-length coding used. So, a series of video standards gradually reinforced the research of error control. H.26L is a new low bit rate video standard and improved the technique of error control. This paper dissects feedback based error control and expounds a new technique to resolve the residual problems resulted by traditional technique. From experimental data, the new technique not only elevates PSNR but also brings down the compression rate in compare with other ones.In chapter 1 a brief introduction to the background and relevant technique is given. In chapter 2, it introduces the basic knowledge of video technique. Chapter 3 discusses a new video standard H.26L and analysis the key programmer. In chapter 4, it discusses various video error recovery and concealment techniques, including error resilient encoding schemes, reference picture select (RPS) and error tracking (ET). Several discussed problems lead to the generation of new technique. Chapter 5 gives a new method named Multi-RPS Connected with ET and it's technical thinking. The principal is that identifying the position of error block in error frame or in the error propagation frame by Error Tracking firstly, then recovering the error by Multi-RPS. In this chapter, it analysis several problems of the new method and gives thecorresponding resolves and achieves the new method in TM9.0. At last, simulation experiments of the new method gives much data and it analysis these data. A conclusion is given that new method not only elevates PSNR but also brings down the compression rate in compared with other ones.
