Application Of Storage Area Network (SAN) On Business & Operation Support System

Along with the high speed developing of the Chinese economy, telecommunication is playing a more and more important role in national economy. For the computer management system of a telecom company, data is the base for all the tasks. According to the huge amount of the data, storing, restoring and effective management of the data became very important. After a period of research, the author announces an issue with the topic: Solutions of storage management for BOSS (Business Operations Support System).The main content of this thesis including: The current state of SAN (storage area network) technology; the analysis based on the construction of BOSS of GuiZhou mobile communication company; the analysis and design of SAN; the research of storage management; the research for the applications of SAN in BOSS.Chapter 1:The significance of the research , the developing history, background and current research state of SAN.Chapter 2:The research of the technical details of SAN, Through in-depth research of SAN, the author describes the hierarchy, detailed framework model, and the disadvantages and hidden troubles of a system using traditional storage solutions; and also describes the characteristics and advantages of SAN.Chapter 3:Describes the current state of BOSS, the design principle, system structure, logical structure, application software of BOSS.Chapter 4: The detailed analysis and calculate of the data size of a SAN. Which will influence with the structure of SAN, the scale of the SAN, the need of the bandwidth and the device equipment which was needed and lead to the successful implement of the SAN.Chapter 5: Detailed description of the implement of SAN , the choose of RAID system, backup plans. For effectively using, managing , storing and backup the data of BOSS, so to get a sufficient using and sharing of the data which were stored centralized, the author described how to design and implement a SAN system which were apply to BOSS, and also have details in the research. As proved by practice, the design is successfully applied to BOSS.
