Nowdays,the research and development in GIS software and RS image processing software concentrate mainly on their realization. But,both GIS and remote sensing (RS) image processing belong to spatial information processing scope, in this, it is necessary that we regard GIS and RS image processing software as an integration in research. GIS software and RS image processing software have some defect because of lacking for software process support or no consideration about the trends and features of GIS software development.In this paper, firstly, we choose RUP as the foundation of GIS and RS image processing software process after analyzing several mature softwares of nation and overseas. Secondly, using the technology of software reuse on the basis of RUP , we proposed a RUP-based GIS and RS image processing software development:in order to ensure the reuse of GIS and RS image processing field components, add field components warehouse design and construct process with the field analysis in the RUP system analysis flow.According to core workflow of improved RUP softwares development processes, This paper not only designes and realizes detailed Remote Sensing image' s LBV data transformation and mapping software systems of vegetation and soil erosion dynamic monitor using satellite image, but also puts forward the solutions of technicalproblems in the development process.
