High Level Architecture (HLA) is a new generational distributed interactive simulation architecture, and its mained purpose is to implement the integration of the different types of simulation applications ,emphasize the interoperability and reuse. With the enlargement of the extent of the distribution simulations, in the federation development based on HLA/RTI ,Data Distribution Management (DDM) has become a magnitude and difficult study direction in the distributed simulation field.This paper discuss the problem existed in the simulation of the large complex system and the purpose of the DDM. Under the background of the practical applications, from the two angles that decrease the number of publishing/subscribing regions and reduce the frequency of delivering data to the network, the paper studied the feasibility that improve the capacity of the DDM in the simulation in the large complex system, and apply the research result to the practice.This paper first looks back the developing process, and points out the localization of the anciently protocol of the distribution interactive simulation, and introduces the new generation distributed interactive simulation level architecture that is HLA. The paper briefly describes the development of the HLA and the basic content, and analyses the architecture's virtue, and points out that the excellent DDM is the key to build the simulation in large complex system.The paper studies the mechanism of the DDM, analyses deeply two core technology--the matching algorithms and the multicast strategy , and gives the study result.In general, the work of the paper involves the following four aspects:1. Analyses the infection of choosing different regions to simulation, then introduces the concept of the smallest regions. After deeply studied the smallest regions of the different objects, gives the academic deducing formula with the mathematic method.2. Introduces the concept of the objects' external models advancing, and analyses its principle in detail. Introduces the classical external models and external advancing models, at last through a simulation instance explains the ways of the implement.3. For satisfying the practical need, designs a general tool to improve the efficiency of the DDM , and gives the detail explain and all the model's function that implements the software. At last, gives an instance to explain the applied ways.4. Introduces the study and the design of the federate in the research of the synthetical simulation of many weapon flat attacking and defense system, then tests the integrate system and compares the results.
