With the popularization and deepening of database technology, the application of Data Mining technology has made considerable progress. This paper discuss the relevant technology and main process of Data Mining in the textile field emphatically.Chinese cotton spinning industry is the best traditional industry of the foundation in the textile industry, occupy the important position in national economy. The development of the information technology make the cotton spinning industry accumulate a large number of business data while the production management produced. How to fully utilize these data to make benefit for enterprise is the problem urgently to be solved at present of textile enterprise, the naissance of Data Mining technology offer an effective way for solving this kind of problem.This paper discuss the difference and relation between Data Mining technology, Knowledge Discovery in Database, on-line Analytical Processing and statistics in detail which on the basis of describing relevant technology and categorized method of Data Mining, point out that Data Mining is one kind of knowledge mining in essence, the process of Data Mining is the process of finding knowledge in a large amount of data. As one kind of tools that in common use, this paper analyze key technology and relevant characteristic to SAS tool deeply.As a application instance, this paper which based on the producing flow of some spinning fist describe the process of data extraction and data cleaning which get the" valuable , clean data "; Secondly , it discuss that how to use SAS tool to integrate the data which separated each other in a database deeply;Then, utilize SAS/Enterprise Miner tool to mine the data, set up regression model, decision tree model, neural network model andanalyze them in detail. At the end of this paper, author propose a 6-steps Data Mining process model which can be used in manufacturing environment but more specially in a Textile spinning facility.
