The Research And Implement On Mobile Geography Information Terminal Based On PDA

The quick development of Electronic&Information technology brings infinite energy for the Geography Information System (GIS). With the progress of micro-electronics and photoelectron technology, communication technology has come into mobile age. Mobile computation system characterized by Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) becomes more and more popular.This paper intends to make use of Mobile Computation technology to realize location information application based on embedded system such as PDA. As a mobile system, it can provide the users with location based service anywhere and anytime. The research includes the development of embedded system (mainly software), mobile communication, wireless network and GPS etc.The paper emphasizes on the following issues: the principle of GPS and Difference GPS; getting and processing the signal of GPS; the PDU format of SMS; the Point-to-Point Protocol; WAP Protocol; the realization of GPRS and WAP browser etc.The author develops a software-PdaGIS which combines the GPS, SMS, GPRS and WAP. PdaGIS is suitable for any PDA whose operation system is Pocket PC.This paper provides a kind of location based service for mobile communication, a solution about the terminal for the GIS and a kind of mobile terminal based on PDA for the "Mobile Location Information Service System".
