Biometrics uses a measurable,physical characteristic or personal behavioral trait to recognize the identity,or verify the claimed identity,of an individual. Because biometrics is more effective and more convenient than the traditional ways of identity or verification such as password or pin code,it gets more and more interests of people with the development of computer technique and networks. Face recognition is one of ways that people use to recognize or verify the individual. The Shen Zhen ICC micro-electronic company authorizes us to design FaceOK software to log in Windows by using the technology of face recognition. The software can strengthen the security of PC and has been sold as a production.The following is my major work:The paper review the background of biometrics,classification of biometrics technology and the application of biometrics.Many literatures and papers about face recognition are learned systematically. The paper describes algorithms about face detection and face recognition as many as possible.Authorized by ICC micro-electronic company in Shen Zhen city,we make FaceOK software. The basic algorithms of face detection and facerecognition is determined firstly and then design and program FaceOK software according to software engineering.Before selling a software production,we test it many times to assure that it is reliable. After tests,FaceOK shows good quality and can be sold .
