Research Development And Implement Of OPC Data Access Server

OPC is an industry standard created with the collaboration of a number ofleading worldwide automation and hardware & software suppliers working incooperation with Microsoft. The purpose of OPC is to standardize the interfaceof software and hardware, and to improve the openness of system. Recentlydevelopment of productions with OPC Interface becomes an important methodto improve marketing competition. This dissertation develops an OPC DataAccess Server in terms of OPC Data Access Specification which can beconnected with any OPC client and the server can be applied to CAN field buscontrol system. The dissertation introduces the background of OPC technology andresearches the OPC Data Access specification firstly. Secondly it introducesCOM technology which is the core of implementing OPC, and describes thecooperation of client and out-of-process component. The emphasis of thisdissertation is to develop OPC DA Server. OPC Specification only describes thestandard interfaces. So developers need to implement these interfaces. Thedissertation designs the structure of OPC server and resolves some difficulty inthe process of development (including the communication between OPC serverand OPC client and the registration of OPC Server). It not only implements thebasic function of OPC which accords with OPC Specification, but alsoimplements the optional function of address space browse by designing the OPCaddress space. It also implements the long-distance communication of OPCserver by use of DCOM technology.
