This thesis establishes the cylinder gear and conic gear parameter serial, and analyzes their mechanics, completed the gear's product size-taking shape the molding size-electrode size delivers the regulation proceeded the research. Establishing the design and calculation methods for the gears precision forming the craftwork parameter, forge piece,those gears precision forming perform, mould and and tool electrodes.Based on the software platform of Pro/ENGINEER 2001 and Visual C++,the system is consisted of CAPP and CAD,which are used for forming process and mould design for the gears,are studied and developed.Based on the design route of the forming process of the cylinder gear and conic gear, this design system GearCAD/CAPP can be divided into four parts: the module of the information inputting of the gear part, the module of the design the forging, the module of the process parameters design and the module of mould design part. In Gear CAD/CAPP system, the geometry model of the gear's parts can be created in Pro/ENGINEER according to the information from the module of the information inputting;then the process parameters can be calculated or determined based on geometry model and CAPP functions ;finally geometry model of forging, tool electrode and mould can be constructed, and create the technology documents.Those theories research result to guide the gear precision process the technological design has the important meanings. Using the Gear CAD/ CAPP system can be fast, accurately create gear spare parts, the piece of forge parts , tool electrode and molding tool, automatic create craft document, significant increases efficiency, have the vast and applied foreground.
