Based on collection and statistics of the fault-cases of turbines in power plant, the main faults were introduced. Meanwhile, fault diagnosis method and system were studied. And a database of history fault-cases in power plant was developed. The major contents of the paper were as follows:1 Fuzzy method for the fault diagnosis was researched. The fuzzy diagnosis model and the multiple-layer fuzzy model based on threshold and maximum rules for fuzzy diagnosis were built.2 The typical fault-cases of rotating machines in power plants were collected. The fault-cases database was developed. It included a lot of information characteristics for the fault and could provide failure solution for operators.
