The Study Of MPEG-4 Standard And Realization Of Motion Estimation Algorithm

MPEG-4 is a popular standard of moving picture compression encoding today. Delivering MPEG-4 video on narrow-band networks, we can gain video with high quality. On the other hand, Video Object (VO) is introduced in the MPEG-4 and coding is based on content. So one of features of MPEG-4 is interactive. The characteristic of MPEG-4 accelerates the development of multimedia.The paper introduces the study background and necessity of MPEG-4 for one thing. Then its system standard is described and the key technique of video encoder in the Verification Models is analyzed. We can be acquainted with MPEG-4 from the second and third part. And we provide a motion estimation algorithm based on Genetic Algorithms and evaluate result. This algorithm proved feasibility. In the end, MPEG-4 application is presented.Summaries and expectations are described at the end of the paper.
