Research On Serially Concatenated Coding System

With the developments of the concatenated codes and Turbo codes reviewed, the serially concatenated convolutional codes that are the serial counterpart of the Turbo codes are introduced firstly in this paper. Secondly, principles of encoding and decoding of SCCC are discussed in detail, in which the principles of iterative decoding and the algorithms of soft input soft output (SISO) inner and outer decoder are given strong emphasis. Thirdly, with the analyzing the bit error upper bound of SCCC and simulating performance in the Matlab environment, the factors that affect the performance of SCCC such as scheme of component codes and interleave): are addressed and the some design criteria are given. Finally yet importantly, SCTCM is researched which combines SCCC with high bandwidth efficiency modular method TCM. Besides, the corresponding schemes of encoding and modulating of SCTCM, the corresponding demodulating and decoding algorithm, and the performance simulation are also presented.
