Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is an effective multi-carrier modulation technique, in which synchronization is one the key ingredients. In this thesis, a new improved algorithm based on pilot technique is proposed for the synchronization. With the help of the introduced algorithm, an accurate timing synchronization and better performance can be achieved even in low SNR environments. Finally, the simulation results employing different algorithms are compared, the conclutions are thus addressed that the new algorithm can outperform the traditional ones in many aspects.
