VRML is the standard for Internet 3D file format. The file format is very complex, so it is very difficult for common users who are not the professionals such as policemen to create VRML file using common text editor. And the 3-Dimension description is more visual, intuitionistic and comprehensive than 2D plan, static pictures or words. This benefits to the report, intercommunion, further analysis and directing of cracking criminal cases. This paper will introduce the design and implementation of a WYSIWYG building tool for 3-Dimension VRML scene. Any user who doesn't know about VRML can master this building tool and create VRML file which can be browsed by VRML pulg-in quickly simply by mouse. And all these hide the work of editing VRML file directly. The users can quickly rebuild the spot scene with 3D Spot Scene Rebuilding System.This dissertation mainly includes: the chief trait and of VRML and some VRML-related techniques; describing the meaning of developing 3-Dimension scene's building tool; describing the process of developing this tool from the point view of software engineering, covering functions describing, designing and implementing.The main work of this dissertation is the study of 3-Dimention scene's building techniques. The aim of developing this system is to provide the WYSIWYG interface for users, with which users can build scenes interactively without programming just like building blocks. This tool shields users form the editing of text. Scene builder needn't know about any syntax of VRML or the details. What they have to do is to manipulate the graphics shown in the interface, the uses can build scenes and control the objects of VRML scenes with the drive from graphics during the running time. And the details of these functions will be implemented by the backstage applications. The system provides the picking and dragging objects in VRML plug-in which is used to shown the 3-Dimention scene, and this provides convenient manipulating method for users. In addition, this dissertation searches for the interactive ways to creating object's moving route, which can be applied to describe the dynamic information of 3D spot scene with a WYSIWYG interface. In order to implement the interactive creating and controlling of scenes, the system provides the dynamic saving of a VRML scene, that's to say the persistence of a scene file.This study is the portrait task of Shenyang Office of Science Technology. The subject is the Study of 3D Spot Rebuilding Technique. This system is applied to aacking criminal cases for the police.
