With the development of computer, communication and network technology, multimedia communication is demanded more and more strongly. Based on the project of Research on the Basic Technique of Network Multimedia Videoconference System, this thesis discusses the transfer solution to the H.323 communication platform in the network environment which does not support multicast.The communication platform includes two parts. One is the communication between the conference terminals and the compere which is responsible for the management of logging on, authentication, controlling orders . etc. The other is the video/audio data communication among the conference terminals. It is responsible for creating transfer channels, transferring data and managing multi-route flows , and this part is mainly discussed in this thesis.This thesis is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the history and development of Videoconference, the background of this paper, and my task in the project. The related techniques of Videoconference such as H. 323 protocol, TCP/IP protocol and IP multicast technology, are included in the second part. The background of the subsystem I take responsibility for has been described in the third part. In the fourth part, the design, the developing process and the key techniques adopted in the development of this subsystem are introduced. In the fifth part, it shows the test result of the subsystem I am responsible for and the whole system. The last part is the conclusion.
