Movement Analysis Of Upper Limb During Activities Of Daily Life Baesd On Camcorder Sytem

According to the principle of stereoscopic vision, this paper presents a three-dimensional movement analysis based on normal cameras, and make use of APAS system which is presented by Ariel Dynamics corp. to obtain the original data about the limb movement. A simplified multi-body kinematics model is built based on the assumption that segments can be modeled as rigid body under some conditions and relative analysis method is also brought forth. Movements of upper limb in ADL are analyzed based on the original data and the analysis method. Problems about the principle and method of the measurements, camera calibration, acquisition of images, filter and smooth of images is discussed at first when use a video-based analysis system to study human movement.The method of analyzing movements of segments and joints with markers is presented based on the anti-kinematics knowledge. The relative placements among markers are considered that caused by deformations of skin and soft issues, then the problem of obtain segment movement matrix is changed to a least-square problem. The singular value decomposition method is used to work out the least-square problem. Euler angles are adopted to describe the joint movements. The makers are classified into segment and joint makers to get the segments movements and joint centers respectively. A static reference measurement is taken to avoid the effect of big skin deformation around joints to the measured data of joint markers.According to upper-limb model, the upper limb movement analysis method is achieved by programming with both visual C++ and matlab. The interface for inputting original data obtained by APAS is designed.Finally, the movement analysis system and the designed program are used into analysis of upper limb ADL (activities of daily life). Eight basic action of upper limb is presented based on the summary and dividing analysis of ADL.
