The Research And Application Of A New Pipe-Filter Pattern

Pipe-filter is applicable to the data-flow algorithm design and software development, already applied in many fields of UNIX, JAVA, software architecture. However, because of diversity of its application and lack of recognition of its essential character, there aren' t uniform definition and description about pipe-filter, which makes it difficult for people to comprehend and apply it.Generic programming paradigm, which is frequently used in software theory researching and abstract algorithm designing, can reflect the common nature from complicated data structure and algorithm, and it is often concerned as a new kind of revolution in thought of software design, just as what OOPD had done.The target that research of this paper is that by analysing the definition, mode and application of every kind of current piping-filter, we disclose the essential character of its, give a kind of pattern which embody its essential character and mode and explain its practical application by giving a representative example.This paper firstly introduced the present research on the piping-filter ; then introduced the technique of abstract data type and generic programming paradigm . It emphasizes on pipe-filter pattern and explains its application by a representiative example.
