Termites are the disastrous pests in the world. According to the book titled "Fauna Sinica, Insecta, vol. 17, Isoptera", there are 476 species of termites in China. They were found in 26 provinces. As for the damage of termites, southern area is more serious than northern area in China. In order to manage and share the termite classification resources, it is necessary and important to digitize classification information and input them into database. The "Fauna Sinica, Insecta, vol. 17, Isoptera" is the most authoritative book on termite classification in China. We use web and databank technologies to realize the sharing of termite classification information.Nowadays people pay more attentions to the intellectual property, especially the copyright of software. Development of software with independent intellectual property is one of important tasks for the software industry of our country. LAMP (Linux + Apache + Mysql + Php) is an excellent, cheap and high effective web developing and application platform. The first Chinese Isoptera Classification Information and Key Database were built by the LAMP in this paper. This databank could provide us the termite classification information and let us identify the unknown species through two ways of dichotomous key or multi-way search. The data of classification system are stored in .the database. The establishment of classification database is to manage easily the classification information and to provide necessary data for multi-way search. The establishment of key databank is to provide necessary data and information for dichotomous key search. The structure of databank of this system is the same as the classification system of the "Fauna Sinica, Insecta, Vol. 17, Isoptera". The databank contains the genus table and the species table. The contents of table include the Chinese species name, Latin pecies name, genus name, soldier termite morphology characters, worker termite morphology characters, adult morphology characters, habit, classification information discussion, hosts and distribution information, and figures of morphology characters. The key database consists of family key tables, genus key tables and species key tables. The classification database and key databank were built by Mysql. Using the technology of Apache + Php + Mysql, we could manage the databank and search the classification information or identify the unknown species of termite. The functions of system include the display of classification information, the search of classification data, the background manage of database, and the identification of unknown species of termite based on the dichotomous key or multi-way search. The tree menu was used in the subsystem of display of classification information because it could display clearly the phylogenetic relation of different species. Every species was linked to the information of dichotomous key table, which produced dynamically and had the same as format of traditional dichotomous key table. When we want to search the genus or species information, after the key words were input, the results would be instantly displayed on the screen one page by one page as the format of mode of classification information display, and the key words would be highlighted. With the help of the database management subsystem, we could add, delete and update the classification information. The subsystem of identification could provide two ways of search for unknown species of termite. One was the dichotomous key, and.another was multi-way search. These two search way all could provide satisfying search results.
