With the fast development of Communication Network, the scale andperformance of LAN, MAN and WAN are becoming larger and higher. But comparedwith LAN and WAN, MAN has no more advanced communication technology thanLAN and less transport bandwidth than WAN. So Man is the serious bottleneck ofCommunication Network now. Therefore, the researches on MAN communicationsbecome crucial theses in the field of Communication Network. Spatial Reuse Protocol(SRP) and the fairness algorithm (SRP-fa) are the important technologies for MAN. Itcan provide great efficiency on bandwidth, transport ability of real-time signals, communication reliability and flexible scalability. Consequently, SRP is one of theoutstanding solutions of MAN. In the dissertation, the definitions and architecture of SRP and SRP-fa are deeplypresented. Then the models of SRP and SRP-fa are created and the simulation isimplemented. Eventually, the software and hardware systems based on SRP andSRP-fa are realized on DSP and FPGA platform. Firstly, the packets of SRP, the procedures of packets handling, SRP-fa, topologydiscovery and IPS are introduced in detail. Secondly, the process model, node model and network model of SRP are createdand the project is built. The simulation focuses on the global fairness and the localoptimization of bandwidth. At last, the validity and feasibility of SRP and SRP-fa aredemonstrated by the detail results. SRP and SRP-fa are realized based on the platform combined with DSP andFPGA. The system is divided into many function modules. The SRP-fa and the packetbuffers are implemented in C and assembly language on DSP, while the mechanism ofSRP is implemented in Verilog HDL on FPGA. Finally, the development of SRP and SRP-fa, including the analysis, simulationand implementation were completed successfully.
