This thesis begins with a study of the current intrusion detection system (IDS) and fuzzy technology, followed by a discussion of the fuzzy technology based intrusion detection system (IDS) model, in which the high reparability, accurate correspondence and good adaptability of the fuzzy system are applied in the intrusion detection system(IDS) so as to overcome such defects as low efficiency, poor flexibility and low up gradibility in the present intrusion detection system (IDS) and thus improve the security and applicability of the whole system.Also presented in this thesis is a study of the method for the generation and dynamic modification of the intrusion rule set through the decision tree and genetic algorithm, which is the emphasis of this thesis.This thesis concludes with a discussion of the detection of the completeness of the file and the availability of the recourses by applying the fuzzy intrusion detection system.
