Research On QoS In IP Network

With the improving of networks and the developing of multimedia applications, IP network has been worthy of the name of Integrated services network from a simple data network. Now multimedia applications such as real-time audio, video have been in the IP network, but many problems still haven't been solved, and the most pivotal problem is QoS problem of multimedia applications in the IP network. How to provide Quality of Service guarantees to Multimedia applications has seen one of their main goals of network development.This thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter points out the necessary of providing QoS guarantees to multimedia applications in IP network and descript the definition of QoS. The second chapter introduces the technology of QoS control in the round. The next chapter analyzes and compares the Integrated Services, Differentiated Services and Integrated+Differentiated Services which presented by IETF workgroup, and discusses their advantages and disadvantages. The fourth chapter introduces how to improve the quality of network by adaptive IP QoS method. The next chapter studies the IP QoS by using simulation. The last chapter draws a conclusion of all the research work we have done in this thesis.
