The design and application of "The Software of Optimal Operation and Control System in Fermentation Process " are studied in this dissertation. For antibiotic fermentation process, some functions such as multifold display of process parameter, soft-sensing of process parameter and monitoring performance of fermentation process, are performed in this software. The aim of the software is to optimize and control the operation of fermentation process. The dissertation focuses on:1. The kinds of parameters measured in fermentation process are analyzed. In order to operate easily and expediently, multifold display of process parameters are studied.2. Some soft-sensing parameters, which are important and meaningful, are presented. The principle and soft-sensing model of these parameters are studied and applied in the software.3. The multivariate statistical process control is used to monitoring the performance of fermentation process. Batch process data can be arranged in a three-way matrix(batch X variable X time), and the process of antibiotic fermentation is a typical batch process. Hence, this dissertation provides a critical discussion of various aspects of the treatment of these multi-way data. Three methods, MPCA, PARAFAC and Tucker3, are proposed for decomposing three-way data matrices. The theories of these methods are discussed, and the characteristics of these methods are ?compared. The role of on-line monitoring the batch process by using these methods is considered, and an application of streptomycin fermentation process is given. It can be seen from the results that the favoring method of on-line monitoring antibiotic fermentation process is using MPCA or PARAFAC and filling the unknown future data. Finally, MPCA is introduced into the software and some outcomes are displayed.4. An application of the developed software is given in the cephalosporin-C fermentation process, and some results are displayed and discussed.
