Quality of Service (QoS) refers to the capability of a network to provide more reliable service. The primary goal of QoS is to provide priority including dedicated bandwidth, controlled jitter, latency, and improved loss characteristics. QoS technologies that are used in the design of extendable IP networks now are absolutely necessary. This paper deals with some key techniques of Differentiated Services networks. A design scheme for Differentiated Services networks is proposed, including Bandwidth Broker's scheme and edge router's scheme. During the design of the system, my paper is fully details describing the research for the design of the edge router's marker, policer and shaper. My paper has some new design views which can be used in Differentiated Serviced networks. RIO scheme is improved and simulated in this paper. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm significantly improves the fairness in demoting and promoting packets. Also the result can be used in practical implement. In addition, resource allocation implemented by Virtual Clock is analyzed in this paper and the consequence is obtained.
