The Study On GIS Spatio-Temporal Data Modeling And Object-Orientrd Data Model

This thesis analyzes several typical spatio-temporal GIS data models. On the basis of the human's cognitive concepts of geographic world, some important GIS spatial concepts and temporal concepts are discussed. Several spatio-temporal conceptual models are developed.According to the application to spatial topological relationship of point-set topology theory, we also develop point-set topology in temporal relationship field and form the definition and description of temporal relationship. A simple example is given to support the theory.Object-oriented technique is widely used in GIS data modeling. Point-object class, line-object class, time class, polygon-object class and complex-object class are extracted from geo-objects, which combines with spatio-temporal topology forms an object-oriented GIS spatio-temporal data model. Basing on such GIS data model, we design a GIS electronic map system, which contains most basic GIS functions, such as object-create, map zoom, wandering, query and so on. At last, the thesis points out many problems and key techniques that the research on combination of GIS and Database. Before putting into practice, many tasks must be done in the future.
